We are seeking to expand our software development capability and as such a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Software Engineer to join our team.We are a small development team with a great, easy-going culture where continuous learning and career development is encouraged.Being one of 4 engineers on the software team, you will have the opportunity to help shape the way we do things and have a real impact on the tools that we are producing to support RJE's diverse business activities.The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, dynamic and interested in problem solving. Ideally, you will be comfortable with full-stack web development, working across both front end and backend technologies, with additional competency in one or more of the following areas: software testing and automation, docker/containerisation, database administration and working with Linux servers.Working knowledge of the following technologies and processes are desirable, but not essential:Angular (or similar TypeScript based frameworks)NodeJS (Express, Nestjs)Typescript, Golang, PythonHTML / CSSNGRX or general understanding the redux patternUnderstanding of Reactive/Asynchronous code (RXJS, Observables/Promises)SQL (MySQL dialect)CI/CD (Jenkins)Microsoft Office automation with VBA (bonus points for experience with MS Access)Linux server operation and DevOps practices.Key personal attributes:Trustworthiness and discretion when dealing with sensitive informationGood verbal and written English communication skillsAbility to work unsupervisedWe offer a collaborative team environment both within and outside of the workplace.
