AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.
This team is diverse, it builds and supports products, applications for AWS sellers, manages large scale infrastructure of 1P and 3P platforms.
The AWS Field Experience (AFX) team is looking for a passionate, innovative, results-oriented Software Development Manager to be developing solutions that make it simpler for our field team to manage, maintain and operate at scale.
As a Software Development Manager in the AFX team, you will help own and contribute to defining and governing coding standards, implementing design patterns and manage overall delivery.
In addition to working on the latest Salesforce technologies, you will also have the opportunity to work with AWS Services to innovate in the space of Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
You'll be chartered with managing and building applications that deliver critical capabilities to the field and embed operational knowledge and encode best practices into everything we do.
In addition, as part of the broader AWS Sales and Marketing organization, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the broader cloud strategy for AWS and potentially future AWS products.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
