By working slightly more than the minimum weekly hours (2 hours per week for full timers) you can accrue up to an extra 12 days of leave per year.Professional development and support to set you up for success and assist you in achieving your career aspirations.Novated leasing through our partners FleetPlus.Leidos Life Hub provides access to discount offers or cashback rewards with over 400 Australian and International retailers.Job DescriptionDescriptionThe Software Developer roles are support of a number of Capability Elements.The Software Developer will be responsible for working under direction as a member of a team responsible for developing software, integrating Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and Government Off the Shelf (GOTS) software, documenting technical processes and assisting with testing and deployment.The role will need well established software development skills and a proven ability to work within an integrated team of technical/non-technical personnel.The program of work has multiple projects which range in size. The successful candidate may be required to work across one or more of these projects.Skills and Knowledge:JavaMajor Responsibilities:Develop software using a variety of software languages and development environments.Contribute to the delivery of high-quality analysis and User Experience outcomes.Adhere to software engineering processes and contribute to software engineering process improvement.Work effectively as a productive member of an integrated Agile team to meet a prioritised schedule of work.Document technical processes and write documentation in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.Support and facilitate productive working relationships by working cohesively and flexibly with the developer team, the broader program team, key business partners and stakeholder groups.QualificationsWe are seeking talented agile software engineers who hold a current TSPV clearance.Experience with Agile, Scrum and associated methodologies is desirable. A Bachelor Degree (or higher) in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (with software engineering experience) is preferred; however, we also encourage candidates with a wide range of industry work experience from 2+ years to apply.Experience or exposure to some of the following:Integration with external systems/applications (REST API, integration protocols, JSON/XML)Integration and customisation of open source technologies (NiFi, Kafka, Elastic (ELK) Stack, Solr)CI/CD tools and technologies and infrastructure as code (Ansible, Jenkins, git)Java and related open source frameworksJIRA and ConfluenceLinux and WindowsAdditional InformationThis role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and to hold a current TSPV security clearance.
