The Role
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Software Developer (Drupal) will work as a member of the web delivery team providing expert technical guidance and support in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of Drupal-based digital solutions.
You will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining Drupal modules, themes, and custom functionalities to deliver high-quality websites and web applications that meet user requirements and adhere to industry best practices.
You will maintain, enhance, and optimise Drupal websites by conducting regular maintenance.
You will identify and resolve technical issues and provide timely support to address user concerns and improve the user experience.
You will work collaboratively with other team members to ensure the quality of the team's work through code reviews and testing.
You will work to ensure websites meet expectations of usability and accessibility, making recommendations for improvements as necessary.
You will ensure developed features work consistently across a standard set of web browsers.
You will stay up to date with Drupal and web delivery technologies and practices.
You will proactively identify opportunities to enhance existing systems and processes, proposing innovative solutions to address business needs effectively.
In a predominantly GovCMS environment, you will participate in agile ceremonies, and you will do a range of Drupal development tasks working closely with other technical and non-technical staff.
You will work independently under broad direction, and you may be asked to assist junior developers.
You will report on your work, including identifying and raising issues that block your progress.
The successful applicant will receive the necessary training, mentoring, and guidance to perform the key responsibilities of the role and to advance their careers in the APS.

Responsibilities of the APS Level 6 may include:
Write readable, testable code that adheres to the department's coding standardsWork with a range of stakeholders to develop enterprise-class Drupal solutions to specificationBuild and maintain custom modules, themes, and templates, as well as integrating Drupal with other systems and first and third-party APIsCollaborate with other delivery team members to produce quality workWork with stakeholders to identify requirements and to resolve application issuesWork to ensure the smooth operation and performance of Drupal-based websites by conducting planned and unplanned maintenanceWrite and maintain documentationWork within the department's delivery frameworkGuide and support less experienced developersWork under limited supervisionParticipate in agile ceremoniesParticipate in design, planning, and estimation sessionsMaintain and advance your knowledge of Drupal and web development technologies.How To Apply
