Working with high profile customers across militaries, government agencies, airports, critical infrastructure, law enforcement and many others.
With an approximately $1bn market capitalisation and having raised approximately $250m in 2024 alone, Our Client is undergoing hypergrowth stage, fuelled by rapidly increasing use of drones for nefarious applications, from battlefield, to terrorism, to contraband delivery and commercial espionage.
This role is in Sydney CBD. There are approximately 160 staff based in the 4,000sqm facility today, scheduled to grow to approximately 300 staff by end of 2026. Overseas on the ground presence includes Virginia (USA), Denmark, Germany and Dubai, as well as distributors in over 70 countries globally.
About the roleOur Client is seeking a Software Architect with relevant experience to join the team in Sydney, NSW. The position will report to the VP of Embedded Systems. The primary focus of the role is to work with existing software engineering teams to ensure software solutions are well designed, testable and fit for purpose. You will work closely with the software engineering and embedded teams to design new software systems and to address issues with existing systems, by promoting best practices and implementing processes within teams to improve software quality. This is an exceptional opportunity for a results-driven individual in a rapidly expanding market.
Responsibilities, Duties and ExpectationsDesign and lead the architecture for distributed linux-based systemsDrive software development processes, best practices, and tools throughout the development lifecycleCollaborate with multiple smaller teams of software engineersDocumentation of software architecture, processes, and policiesWork with the engineering team to ensure reliable and robust end to end system operationProvide guidance and mentorship to team membersQualifications, Experience and SkillsBS degree in Computer Science, Software, Electronic Engineer or similar field of study or equivalent practical experienceMinimum 5 years' of software development experienceMinimum 3 years' experience working with microservicesExposure to microservices architectureExperienced in large-scale software developmentIdeally Python, C++, Go ExperienceInter-device communication using gRPC, Redis, REST, raw TCP/UDP, message brokersDevelopment tools including Git, Jira, Confluence, and CICD pipelinesExperience in architecture design for scalable software solutionsUnderstanding of CICD pipelines in a distributed system environmentIf this is you, we would like to hear from you.
