Far North Queensland Region, Early Childhood and State Schools Division
Far North Queensland Region are seeking Psychologists and Social Workers for permanent full-time and part-time employment. A one-off workforce initiative of $20,000 will provide Social Workers and/or Psychologists with an incentive payment to work within a QLD state school in a geographical area ofdemand in the Far North Queensland Region as part of our Queensland Department of Education's Student Wellbeing Package.

This incentive is available for new starters who have commenced employment with the Department ofEducation between 28/03/2024 and 07/06/2024.

As part of the Queensland Government's $106.7 million Student Wellbeing Package , we are increasing the number of wellbeing professionals working in state schools and education regions across Queensland. By June 2024, employment of additional wellbeing professionals through this initiative will ensure every Queensland state school student has access to support for their wellbeing at school.
About the Role: To provide quality school-based mental health care to students, their support networks and the broader school community. As a Wellbeing Workforce Psychologists or Social Worker, you will work within the school environment by supporting the school team, under the supervision and leadership of regional office-based clinical supervisors,.
We are seeking to fill the following roles, with appointment being based on your relevant experience and qualification.
PO2 - PO3 Social Worker ($73593 - $106663)PO4 Senior Social Worker ($113324 - $121876)Responsibilities common across all three disciplines include:
Assess the mental health needs of students to inform appropriate therapeutic interventions.Work collaboratively with schools' leadership and student support teams to inform student support planning, and provide advice to teachers supporting students' mental health in the classroom.Develop referral and case management processes to support delivery of the service. Coordinate referrals to external agencies, and work collaboratively with external networks and stakeholders to ensure access to appropriate supports for students.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.
