The Social Worker provides a range of social work services to clients of the hospital through expert psychosocial assessment, counselling, crisis intervention, case management, implementation of a therapeutic intervention plan, liaison, advocacy, negotiation and mobilisation of community resources.
In this role you will be a knowledge specialist and use your skills within a multidisciplinary setting, working closely with other health professionals and community agencies.
You will contribute to the development of clinical practice, and in doing so promote optimal delivery of services to clients of the Women's and Children's Hospital.
Key Responsibilities: To provide professional Social Work Services to children, adolescents and their families.
Effective and efficient psychosocial assessment, counselling and the implementation of therapeutic intervention plans are provided.
Advocating for individual clients and their family within the hospital and when referring to community services and agencies Promoting a clearly articulated role for the social work department in the multidisciplinary team delivery of health care.
You are required to have an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
