Your Opportunity To provide high level, specialist child advocacy services for children, young people and their families, including risk assessment, consultation and required interventions within a child centred framework. This position is a key member of the Child Advocacy Team to provide a direct point of contact across Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service (WBHHS).What we're looking for: Demonstrated high level of knowledge, expertise and skill in social work theory and practice in the specialist field of child protection, particularly child safety and family violence risk assessment, with possession of a non-judgemental, non-threatening approach to clients of the Child Advocacy Team.Demonstrated ability to work independently yet inclusively within a multidisciplinary environment to provide general child protection advice regarding service delivery and improvement opportunities using high level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to adopt the principles of the Family Partnership model in interactions with clients, staff and external providers. Contribute effectively to multi-disciplinary team functioning.Demonstrated ability to initiate, plan, implement and evaluate local education programs and sessions for individuals and groups including the ability to adopt evidence-based practice and quality improvement or research activities.Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Queensland Legislation which regulates public health care and can impact on the delivery of psychosocial health care to clients.Preferred Qualifications: Mandatory possession of a recognised degree in Social Work, and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Eligibility is dependent on the candidate having completed a University level Social Work degree accredited by the AASW and that the candidate does not have any other outstanding professional competency or ethical issues or complaints known to the AASW which may preclude membership.Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a "certification of eligibility" letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership. Overseas qualified applicants should include such evidence with their application to be considered for short-listing in the selection process.Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $157,359 p.a., comprising salary between $128,169 - $137,918 p.a. (f/t), or a competitive salary between $64.64 - $69.56 p.h (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4) (Permanent Full Time, 76 hours p.f., or Permanent Part Time Positions, hours negotiable) (Applications will remain current for 12 months).
