We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the Social Work Department. This role requires a social worker who is committed to providing comprehensive psycho-social assessments and complex case management and care planning for patients experiencing acute health challenges. You will be working full time as part of a supportive social work team as well as working with skilled interprofessional teams across a number of medical and surgical specialties.

Selection Criteria: Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health AustraliaDegree in Social Work and eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) with evidence of clinical experience in a tertiary hospital or health-related field as a practising Social Worker.Demonstrated clinical skills and knowledge in psychosocial assessment, counselling, therapy interventions, case management, advocacy, and discharge planning.Demonstrated knowledge of crisis intervention, short-term solution-focused intervention, and grief and loss.Demonstrated experience and ability to work as a member of multidisciplinary teams in a high-pressure environment with competing demands with sound negotiation and liaison skills.Well-developed time management, prioritisation, computer, written, and verbal communication skills.Ability to contribute to research projects, quality improvement, and education activities within the designated specialties and social work services.Ability to participate in an extended hours on-call service.Applications close on 20 November 2024 Contact Details:Margaret Bramwell
