About the Role As the YDACS Social Worker, you will be working alongside youth who are managing complex and challenging situations.
You will be expected to have thorough knowledge of the child-protection policy and legislation, and the ability to implement this knowledge if need be.
You will also be able to apply professional and ethical boundaries, possess exceptional people skills and have the capacity to think and solve problems as they arise.
The successful applicant will be supported by other multidisciplinary professionals from the YDACS team, as well as the CYFS Manager and the DACS Allied Health Clinical Lead.
Professional development is encouraged and supported, and DACS provides education sessions regularly that you are welcome to attend.
Where you'll be working Join The dynamic Youth Drug and Alcohol Clinical Service located on coastal Awabakal country a short walk from Newcastle CBD.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team supporting young people, their families and the community to reduce harms associated with alcohol and drug use.
Additional Information An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part time and temporary part time vacancies.
To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.
