Child Welfare, Youth & Family Services (Community Services & Development)Full timeTraining Alliance Group (TAG) is a leading provider of education and employment services in Western Australia, providing quality training across a variety of sectors and supporting individuals to achieve their employment and education goals.Within the employment services portfolio, TAG delivers the Transition to Work, Workforce Australia, ParentsNext and Employability Skills Training program, aimed at supporting participants into employment, education and/or training.About the RoleWe are seeking a full-time fully qualified Social Worker, who will provide meaningful support to job seekers presenting multiple barriers to employment. Through conducting assessments and delivering both individual and group-based interventions, the Social Worker will provide ongoing support to individuals, helping to achieve their employment and education goals.This role will predominantly focus on providing support to our Workforce Australia participants but will also involve support to all other Employment Services programs.The role will work across multiple sites in the Perth South region and also must be willing to travel to Kalgoorlie.Key duties of the role will include:Conduct assessments of participants who present with multiple and complex non-vocational and vocational barriers to employment;Provide supportive counselling and evidence-based mental health intervention as required;Collaboration with internal stakeholders to assist participants into education or sustainable employment outcomes;Delivery of mental health and life skills workshops to Workforce Australia participants;Liaise with external support agencies and professionals to complete assessments or make appropriate referrals.About youYour proven ability to achieve performance expectations will be complemented by your:Demonstrated ability to assess barriers facing job seekers and to develop appropriate intervention strategies that lead to sustainable employment or education;Proven ability to produce good case notes;Ability to assist in generating positive outcomes for job seekers;Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills;Skills and experienceTertiary qualifications in Social Work with eligibility for membership with Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW);Experience as a Social Worker, dealing with at risk and vulnerable client groups;Ability to provide a Working with Children's Check and national Police Clearance;Valid WA Drivers Licence;Experience in the Employment Services Industry, or similar;Demonstrated Case Management and Advocacy skills;Strong IT and Administration skills.To apply, please attach your current resume and cover letter, including copies of your qualifications.Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.Your application will include the following questions:Are you available to travel for this role when required?Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?Do you have a current Police Check (National Police Certificate) for employment?How many years' experience do you have as a social worker?Do you have a current Working With Children (WWC) Check?Do you have a current Australian driver's licence?What's your expected annual base salary?Do you have membership with any of the following psychology, social work, or counselling boards?
