Department of Education WA – Kalgoorlie WAThis is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025East Kalgoorlie Primary School (PS) is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Social Worker to join their team.East Kalgoorlie PS is a K-6 school located on the eastern fringe of the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Our students are from all over the city, 95% of whom are Aboriginal. We pride ourselves on having high-care conditions and ensure that all teaching and learning programs are robust and evidence-based so that all students can succeed.The RoleIn this role, the successful applicant will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing support for students and families in need. The successful applicant will join the Student Support team to work collaboratively with families and carers to reduce the complexities impacting students most in need and support them to better engage with their learning. The successful applicant would be responsible for undertaking assessment of referred students, preparing plans and undertaking social work intervention with students, families and groups. They would also be required to interview parents and/or guardians, as well as obtain and evaluate case information from all relevant sources, which could include making home visits when necessary.The successful applicant should collaborate closely with other staff within our existing support structures.
