An opportunity has become available for a Social Worker (Adult Mental Health Community) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12,000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
Provide efficient and responsive community mental health nursing care at a professional levelUndertake and coordinate case management activities that are designed to help individuals affected by serious and persistent mental illnessParticipate in clinical practice supervision with senior staff and exercise independent professional judgementContribute to activities that evaluate and ensure the effective functioning of the serviceAbout you
To be successful in this position you will require: A tertiary degree in Social WorkEligible for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)Driver licenceBlue card / Working with children check (GCH will cover cost)Appointment or eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 is highly desirableEvidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis BTuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be requiredDeclaration of serious discipline history must be disclosedCriminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)Benefits

It is the aim of this service to offer a recovery-oriented approach that is person-centred, strengths based, collaborative and empowering. There is an emphasis on consumer choice, building resilience and enhancing opportunities for social inclusion. The CCT operates on the premise that consumers can and do recover from mental illness.
The CCT operates Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm, across a variety of settings within the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service (GCHHS).
