What you'll be doing Lead and guide a Social Work service to patients, clients, consumers and their family/carers to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes consistent with NSLHD policies, procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct. This position is responsible for providing professional leadership and team management to Social Workers within RNSH Social Work Departments Chronic and Complex Care Team. The position works co-operatively with the Social Work Head of Department and will assist in the coordination of comprehensive Social Work Services including supervision of a team of social workers. The position is expected to provide leadership in quality activities, attend to human resource management and manage specific projects.

Social Work degree and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) with extensive experience at a Level 2 or above with a demonstrated understanding of the psychosocial impacts of living with chronic health conditions and hospitalisation.Demonstrated advanced clinical skills in comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, counselling and therapeutic interventions, complex clinical casework, advocacy and discharge planning.Demonstrated ability to provide guidance, leadership and management of a Social Work team.Demonstrated advanced communication skills (both written and oral) and demonstrated competence in the use of electronic information systems.Excellent negotiation, complex decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to prioritise work and manage stressful situations; ability to work unsupervised and apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel or critical nature across a team.Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to quality processes and the application of evidence-based practice within Social Work.Need more information?
