Champion social performance best practices, guiding projects to effectively manage community impacts, enhance stakeholder engagement, and deliver long-term, positive outcomes for both Powerlink and local communities.
The opportunity: As a Social Performance Advisor, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful integration of social performance practices within Powerlink's activities.
This includes supporting the development of Impact Assessments (SIA's), Community Investment Plans, and Implementation Plans for various Powerlink projects.
You'll work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including landholders, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander parties and local communities to address complex social and community issues and maintain sustainable mutually beneficial relationships.
You will also:
Support the development and implementation of processes to address social performance, social impact, and community investment issues across Powerlink's projects, including REZ and other infrastructure initiatives.
Lead and guide internal and external stakeholder engagement efforts on complex social performance issues.
This may involve collaborating with subject matter experts and conducting research to resolve community concerns effectively.
Identify and communicate risks related to social impacts, community and landholder engagement, land access, and cultural heritage.
Work with internal teams to develop strategies that address these risks.
Support the coordination and delivery of community investment approaches, ensuring responsible investment that creates shared value for both local communities and Powerlink.
Work collaboratively across Powerlink's divisions to ensure that social performance objectives are integrated into planning and project delivery.
Represent Powerlink in discussions with external stakeholders, government agencies, and energy sector forums, driving good practices in social performance and community relations.
The people you'll join: Based at our Virginia office within our Community and Delivery Services group, you will join a collaborative and dedicated team focused on managing social risks and building strong community relationships.
Our Social Performance team works closely with internal and external stakeholders to address social impacts, ensure compliance, and deliver shared value.
You'll play a key role in shaping strategies that support sustainable project outcomes and foster positive relationships with local communities and stakeholders.
What you'll bring: Degree qualification in Social Science, Environmental Studies, Communications, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience in social performance for infrastructure projects.
Significant experience in community relations, social impact assessment, risk analysis, and/or social performance for large infrastructure projects.
Proven ability to develop and deliver Social Impact Assessments and community engagement strategies.
Ability to work effectively in both field and office-based environments, including remote or rural areas.
Knowledge of best practices in community relations, landholder engagement, and social risk management.
