We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Equity Projects Coordinator to join our Community Wellbeing Team!
About the role: Lead and implement key prevention of family violence and gender equity initiatives across the Greater Shepparton region, including the Local Government Guide for the prevention of violence against women and girls and the Gender Equality Action Plan.Collaborate with staff, stakeholders and community to deliver evidence-based programs tailored to the unique needs of the Greater Shepparton community.Lead training initiatives, educational events and engagement activities to strengthen understanding across Council and community.Identify areas for improvement and ensure initiatives are delivered on time and within budget, while supporting a culture of awareness and inclusivity.Your core talents: Excellent stakeholder engagement skills to build partnerships and networks with community, key stakeholders, service providers and Government.Strong organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously within project timeframes and budgets.Sound understanding of best-practice approaches to gender equity and prevention of family violence, including the socio-economic, cultural and contextual factors affecting communities.Tertiary qualifications in social sciences, public health, social work, gender studies or related discipline.Working at Greater Shepparton City Council:
