Come and join our Psychiatrists here in Bega – it's great! An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified Psychiatrist to join the team at South East Regional Hospital, a Level 4 Health Facility based in the Bega Valley, part of the Southern NSW - Mental Health Directorate.

Bega - 429 kilometres south of Sydney, 228 kilometres from Canberra or 174 kilometres from the NSW Snow fields.

Our Offer: Provide best practice evidence-based clinical services to achieve quality patient outcomes.Undertake supervision and education within the clinical environment of junior medical staff and other relevant staff to foster safe clinical practice.Utilise information systems to enable informed decision making and care planning.Communicate with staff and clinicians to ensure quality and continuity of care.Actively participate in risk management and quality programs to improve organisational processes and own practices.
Comply with relevant legislation and regulations, NSW Ministry of Health policies and SNSWLHD procedures to assist in meeting Activity Based Funding, Commonwealth and State targets.Provide contemporary comprehensive specialist services for optimal patient outcomes.Provide and support training to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.The provision of psychiatric services to admitted consumers within South East Regional Hospital including the Mental Health Adult Inpatient Unit.
You will be employed by Southern NSW Local Health District.
The position is primarily located at the facility applied for.
Secondary appointments within other facilities may occur by mutual agreement.
Selection Criteria: Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Specialist in Psychiatry.Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Psychiatry.Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research, and quality improvement.Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases:
This is a Category 'A' position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015.
All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy.
OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
