Southern NSWLHD comprises four Networks - Tablelands centred around Goulburn, Monaro centred around Queanbeyan and Cooma, the Coastal Network located in the far south-east corner of NSW, and the Integrated Care Network.

The Goulburn Base Hospital has recently been re-born by moving into its state of the art Clinical Services Building in December 2021. Goulburn now boasts a new state of the art Level 4 Emergency Department, a Level 4 ICU, and new Operating Theatres.
Our ED sees approximately 20,000 presentations per year, of which 10 - 15% of cases are Paediatrics. There is a 25% admission rate. The ED workforce is staffed with Senior, Permanent, and Casual CMOs. The ICU is staffed with Senior, Permanent, and Casual CMOs.
There are new Paediatric, General Medical, and Surgical Wards with purpose-built negative flow areas and a Rehabilitation Ward. Services provided include 24/7 Emergency Care, General Medicine, General and Orthopaedic Surgery, Paediatrics, Maternity, and Rehabilitation Medicine.
What you'll be doing The Paediatrician will provide expert paediatric medical assessment and management of patients within the Department of Paediatrics. The role also includes a key clinical role in teaching, supervision, and support of Junior Medical Staff.
The Staff Specialist will also be expected to work in outpatient clinics across the District, within the Network.
This position also involves participation in a 24/7 on-call roster.

Selection Criteria: Recognised specialist qualifications - Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and/or equivalent specialist recognition. Suitable applicants who are expected to be awarded their Fellowship within six months will be considered, and Advanced Trainees nearing completion of their training are encouraged to apply.Demonstrated recent clinical experience and competence in general paediatric medicine including acute care, neonatal care, and outpatient general paediatrics (including learning, development, and behavioural medicine). Demonstrated interest and skills in paediatric service development, innovative models of care, and project leadership is desirable.Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and build collaborative partnerships towards a successful outcome.Strong skills in training and capacity building with demonstrated commitment and skills in teaching, continuing self-education, research, and quality improvement.Demonstrated effective clinical and interpersonal communication skills including effective written, verbal, and interpersonal skills and use of information technology.Demonstrated commitment to patient safety.Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on-site within a reasonable time and current licence to drive in NSW.Occupational Assessment, Screening, and Vaccination against Specific Diseases
