Where you'll be working Cooma Hospital and Health Service is part of the Monaro Network.
It is a 41 bed acute hospital and offers emergency medicine; surgery (Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Gastroenterology, General Surgery and Obstetrics); Inpatient Services; Maternity, (24 hours) beds; Renal Dialysis; Outpatient Oncology; Pathology collection; Pharmacy; and Medical Imaging (X-Ray, CT and Ultrasound).
Cooma is the gateway to the Snowy Mountains, the gold rush town of Cooma is the largest in the region, and a popular stop for snow lovers on their way to the ski fields.
You can also fish for trout in crystal clear mountain streams and explore the beautiful alpine countryside.
The drive from Sydney to Cooma is a little over four hours, from Canberra it's about 80 mins and from the pristine beaches and tourist towns of the Sapphire Coast it's 70 mins.
You can fly into Snowy Mountains Airport and hire a car and explore the High Country.
Cooma has a range of accommodation including motels, hotels, farm stays, cottages and caravan parks.

The Rural incentive package applies to all full time and part-time dental officers and dental specialists working in an eligible rural and remote area.
For more information email: Your Opportunity: Provide evidence based clinical care to patients, within your scope of practice and legislative and regulatory frameworks, resulting in quality care and a contemporary approach to dental procedures and patient care and advanced clinical reasoning skills.
This will involve providing general and a broad range of complex and advanced dental procedures.
Utilise clinical tools, equipment and applications to ensure that the care provided is of a high professional standard.
Maintain accurate and appropriate clinical records, including paper based and electronic records.
Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical practice and develop and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with staff.
Provide clinical supervision and support to oral health staff.
Actively participate in approved oral health promotion and preventative programs and educate patients under your care to maintain good oral health.
Communicate with patients/carers ensuring consistent care and maximised health outcomes.
Encourage good and positive work.
Click here for the Position Description Selection Criteria: Dental qualification eligible for registration as a dentist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Demonstrate highly advanced skills in managing difficult clinical situations and a proven record of carrying out a broad range of advanced and complex dental procedures.
A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to a preventative/population health approach to patient care.
Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality and abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct in line with prescribed NSW Health policies and procedures.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively and sensitively with a wide range of individuals.
Proficiency in the use of computer systems including electronic patient records and digital imaging.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team.
Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes.
This may involve driving long distances within the Health Service.
Evidence of a current Class C drivers licence.
