Senior Analyst Finance Reporting and Analytics, Building Commission NSW
- Clerk Grade 9/10
- Parramatta, other locations considered
- Temporary role until 30 June 2025 with the potential for extension
As a Senior Analyst Finance Reporting and Analytics, you will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of Building Commission NSW, providing expert financial analysis, forecasting, reporting and advice. Reporting to the Director Office of the Building Commissioner, you will work closely with stakeholders across the Commission and the Department of Customer Service (DCS) to ensure robust financial management and strategic decision-making. You will use your strong analytical skills and deep understanding of financial principles to provide insights that inform budget development, resource allocation, procurement and policy decisions.
About the Building Commission NSW
The new Building Commission NSW (BCNSW) has been established after the NSW Government recognised the substantial progress made by NSW Fair Trading and the Office of the Building Commissioner in delivering once-in-a-generation reforms of the building and construction industry. The new commission will not only be the industry regulator, but also a collaborator with consumers and industry to ensure standards, capabilities, capacity and resilience continue to be lifted across the sector to deliver quality homes and meet the state's housing targets.

As a Senior Analyst, you will: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis for BCNSW at a Commission, Directorate and program level. Track and report on BCNSW revenue streams. Prepare and present financial reports, insights, and recommendations to senior management and departmental committees, ensuring recommendations align with government priorities and fiscal strategy. Support and manage the financial component of operational activities such as procurement and recruitment. Collaborate with key stakeholders across DCS to support the development and implementation of financial strategies and policies. Identify financial trends, issues, and opportunities to drive improvements in financial performance and efficiency for BCNSW. Ensure compliance with government financial regulations, policies, and reporting standards. Support financial management knowledge and uplift across BCNSW. To be successful in this role you will have: Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A CPA, CA, or CFA qualification is highly desirable. Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting, preferably within the public sector or a large organisation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights. Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and present complex financial information clearly and concisely. Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, Excel, SAP and other financial management software. A strong understanding of government financial frameworks, policies, and reporting requirements is highly desirable. Ability to manage competing priorities and work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Salary Clerk Grade 9/10, with the base salary for this role starting at $120,859 base plus superannuation.
