The role We are currently seeking a junior or experienced Water Engineer to work closely with our other specialists in the Water Resources team. This role will predominantly be working on Qld projects, however will also support the wider ANZ business.
About the role: Conduct flood studies and assessments including the impact of flood mitigation options. Water balance modelling, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling. Detailed hydrology and water planning software. Ensure that analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC. Proactively collaborate with appropriate team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and coordination of project deliverables. With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.
Suitable applicants will have/be: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent. Experienced with modelling software including hydrological modelling, 2D Tuflow, HecRas and Source modelling (desired). Some exposure to 12D or Drains stormwater assessments. A minimum of 1-2 years' experience in water engineering. Report writing and communication skills to work effectively within a diverse and multi-disciplinary environment.
