There is a fantastic opportunity for a highly experienced Planner with 15+ years experience to join our APAC Planning team in Sydney or Newcastle. Our team is made up of skilled and motivated Planners with an enthusiastic approach to life and work. We currently service a pipeline of projects within the built environment, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
This role will require a planning expert, with a penchant for business development as well as technical excellence. We are looking for a market-facing leader to help foster new relationships, nurture existing ones, and develop staff to ensure our potential is reached. As a Technical Director and part of the planning leadership team, we are looking for someone to help influence the direction of our growing team. Key Responsibilities This opportunity will see you working across a variety of industries and key projects. Responsibilities include:
Support the Planning Manager in growing the Planning Team's market presence across professional networks in NSW. Proactively identify and foster new opportunities and relationships within the built environment sector. Deliver planning analysis and research via a commercially astute lens to confidently deliver exceptional results. Deliver Expert Evidence within the Land and Environment Court. Keep abreast of legislative and policy changes within the planning realm. Manage several projects at any one time without direct supervision. Mentor and lead junior staff to assist the overall growth of the team. Liaising with clients, councils, consultants & other government agencies. Experience The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
15+ years' hands-on experience with tertiary qualifications in town planning or equivalent. Post-graduate qualifications are advantageous. Have previously undertaken a senior/leadership role within a consulting environment. Demonstrated technical autonomy working across multiple sectors, especially town planning, property, and development. Highly proficient in business, client, and project development. Be driven to pass on your knowledge by mentoring junior staff. A thorough understanding of project budgets and deliverables while maintaining excellent client service.
