Position: Legal Administrative Assistant

SWS Lawyers currently has a permanent full-time position available for a Legal Administrative Assistant with at least 2 – 3 years' experience to join our property and estates team in a legal support capacity. In this role, you will work alongside our lawyers who advise private and corporate clients on complex property, planning and estates.
About the Role
The SWS property and estates team comprises two very experienced lawyers with more than 30 years experience, as well as the practice group leading lawyer and graduate level lawyers who are all supported by a senior administrative assistant. The successful applicant will work with all the existing team members and benefit from training and support from a senior legal assistant.
We would look favourably on applicants with previous conveyancing and/or wills and estates experience. Ideally, you would have:
knowledge of wills and probate matters; exposure to conveyancing and an interest in property transactions; excellent communication, typing and writing skills; organisational, time and diary management skills. Our support team works directly alongside both junior and senior lawyers, and all our people are the face of SWS.
In addition to being assigned to the property and estates team, you will help manage the day-to-day operations of our firm and deliver a great first impression both on the phone and in person. Your broader office responsibilities will include:
greeting clients and attending to their needs; coordinating meetings and catering as required; general management of 'front of house'; preparation of monthly client accounts and assisting the Finance Manager with debtors; handling incoming and outgoing mail, as well as couriers; opening and closing of files, archiving and file retrieval from our off-site storage facility; liaising with building management regarding tenancy issues and assisting with requirements; typing and preparing legal documents, contracts and general correspondence; photocopying, filing of court documents and client correspondence. About You
The right candidate will:
be a friendly and professional individual with at least 2-3 years' experience working in a legal environment; be looking for excellent job security, career satisfaction and a team environment; have strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail; have advanced skills in Microsoft Office. SWS will train the right candidate to support our property and estates team. External additional courses and training, including an approved conveyancing course, are also on offer.
