Ventia is excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer or Coordinator to join the Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO) Project.
This internationally acclaimed project is set to become the world's largest and most advanced radio telescope, with support from 16 countries.
As a Quality Engineer/Coordinator with a background in construction & infrastructure, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring service excellence across multiple work fronts.
You will be responsible for overseeing Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC), collaborating closely with various subcontractors and the project management team to implement project-specific management plans, including Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) protocols.
The Square Kilometre Array (SKA) project is an ambitious, multi-country collaboration aiming to build the world's largest radio telescope network.
The Australian site will feature critical infrastructure, including power and fibre networks and the design, fabrication and commissioning of the Central Processing Facility (CPF) and Remote Processing Facilities (RPF).
This is a high-profile project with significant global impact, blending technical innovation and international collaboration.
Work Schedule: This role involves a 2:1 FIFO roster, with an expected mix of site work at the Murchison site and Welshpool Laydown Yard.
There will be a 4–6-month training period which will see you working locally before moving into a full time FIFO role.

Duties include: Review the QA documents from subcontractors to ensure compliance to required specifications.
Arranging and witnessing NDT as required for fabrication works Conduct quality inspections and contribute to maintaining Ventia's internal audit schedule Raise non-conformance's and oversee the corrective actions through the NCM process Developing ITP's and checklists Gather data for the optimisation of processes, developing procedures and reports Ensuring quality between subcontractors and clients during various activities throughout the Project Lifecycle in accordance with Handover Takeover (HOTO)  To be successful in this role you will have: Extensive experience as a Quality Advisor in major construction projects Experience with Mechanical or Structural Fabrication Proven strong ability to research information and find solutions Monitoring and reporting on all activities, processes, and procedures Developing internal auditing tools and conducting internal audits Proven experience Influencing and lead work crews in a challenging construction environment Ability to work under pressure, be well organised, and complete projects on or ahead of time Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field Certified Lead or Internal auditor in quality management systems.
