About the company
Our client is a financial services company based in Melbourne CBD, who are looking for immediate support within their SMSF Accounting team due to an increased capacity with workload. Ideally, they are looking for some to start prior to the holiday period.
About the role
This position is a 3-month contract role with the opportunity for extension. The role is based in the Melbourne CBD area with a hybrid working model (2 days in office, 3 days from home). Sitting in the SMSF Accounting Team and reporting into the SMSF Manager you will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of quality management, statutory and regulatory reports and reconciliations.
The SMSF Fund Accountant is responsible for all reporting aspects of the SMSFs that the business administers. The key deliverable is that accounts are completed accurately and in a timely manner. You will be the conduit between the funds auditors, advisers and trustees, ensuring all documents are prepared in a timely manner to ensure compliance with lodgement deadlines.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing financial statements, annual returns, member statements for SMSF clients Processing daily transactions for trustees, benefits transfers, contributions and benefits payments on behalf of clients Preparation and dispatch of BAS/IAS and PAYG summaries Liaising with auditors and assist in resolving matters Ensure compliance is adhered to Meeting legislative deadlines for lodgements About You You are immediately available and can start next week Previous experience of at least 5 years in SMSF fund accounting specifically within the financial services industry CA/CPA qualified or working towards - highly desirable Experience in self-managed super funds (SMSF) is a must Exposure to Class software is essential Proactive approach with the ability to interact successfully at all levels across the organisation Good time management skills to meet stakeholder deadlines.
