Six Degrees Executive is delighted to collaborate with Tasmanian Independent Retailer (TIR), a proud Tasmanian organization based in Launceston since 1947. TIR operates as a retailer-owned Co-operative, encompassing two key divisions: Tasmanian Independent Retailers and Island Fresh Produce. Dedicated to supporting independent supermarket retailers and serving food service customers, TIR is embarking on an exciting transformational journey with a renewed growth strategy.
The role
Reporting to the GM - Merchandise and Marketing, the Category Manager will oversee a portfolio of categories within TIR. This pivotal role involves crafting and executing category strategies to enhance product assortment, pricing strategies, and promotional activities aimed at driving sales and profitability. Close collaboration with vendors, marketing teams, and store operations will be essential to ensure the success of each category.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies aligned with TIR's growth objectives. Optimize product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies to maximize sales and profitability. Foster strong supplier relationships to improve range, quality, trading terms, and financial incentives. Analyze market trends and consumer insights to develop data-driven category plans. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective execution of category strategies across stores. Experience and Qualifications
Degree qualified, the ideal candidate will have gained Category/Merchandise Management or Key Account Management experience within a sophisticated retail or FMCG environment. Particular exposure to managing grocery categories is greatly desired. A strong understanding and proven ability to create insights and data lead plans to drive sales and profit is a key criteria.
