Reporting to Operations Managers, this position will oversee the effective delivery of haulage operations under our haulage and train load out contract, ensuring that work by Qube complies with all client, regulatory and company responsibilities, including and most importantly safety. This position is specific to cover leave across various sites. Leave cover position for various central SA sites (Whyalla, Port Augusta, Olympic Dam, Carrapateena, Prominent Hill, Ceduna, etc.) DIDO or FIFO from Adelaide or Port Augusta Varied roster to suit leave coverage Attractive and competitive remuneration package Primary Purpose The primary purpose of the Site Supervisor is to assist management in ensuring that the site complies with all the client, regulatory and company responsibilities, including safety, and meets productivity targets through the effective leadership of operational teams. Specific Responsibilities Leads and supervises the performance of the operations team on the job to ensure a safe and efficient operation in line with Qube and Client Policies and Procedures. Allocate and manage tasks to ensure completion is within the allocated shifts and compliance with fatigue management and other relevant OH&S requirements. Monitor performance against targets to ensure that these efficiently meet Qube and Client requirements. Assist and backup the Site Operations Manager and other Supervisors as required. Communicate and liaise with client representatives to ensure that performance objectives are achieved. Ensure workforce has the skills required to undertake tasks as designated, including inducting and training existing and new employees. Undertake regular safety field leadership activities and on the job observations to identify opportunities and provide coaching, and advice to employees to assist in their development. Use initiative to develop, recommend and implement operational changes. Oversee the implementation of actions to prevent the occurrence of deficiencies in the delivery of services. Ensure appropriate communication of standards, expectations and procedures to the operational team through prestart safety and information discussions and meetings. Ensure Machinery Pre-Starts are carried out and documented. Ensure Contractors are properly engaged, and adequate supervision and monitoring is in place. Maintain records and create reports related to personnel, performance, safety, and financial elements of the business. Complete other tasks as directed in a timely manner. Qualifications/Experience Required Supervisory experience in a similar role Experience with Surface Mobile or Earthmoving Equipment Experience in the Heavy Transport industry in a similar role Current valid Motor Vehicle Driver's License Excellent communication, interpersonal and written skills Good knowledge and experience of best practice in road transport operations Team management and leadership Focus on safety Customer focused and responsive to customer requirements Ability to work under pressure If you would like the opportunity to join one of the fastest growing Ports, Transport and Logistics company in Australia then please click on the "Apply" button below and complete our online application form.
