Graphite Construction & Management is a small custom builder in Adelaide known for delivering medium to high end projects in the field of renovations, extensions, new builds and small commercial. We are passionate about what we do and really value our culture and the way we work together with our in-house team, trades, designers, consultants, and clients to get our projects over the line.
We are currently looking for an experienced Leading Hand/Site Supervisor with a proven track record in this field to support our growth now and in the future.
The successful applicant will be required to split their time between supervision and trade related tasks on site to ensure all projects are built on time, within budget and to a high level of quality. 
This role requires dedication and strong communication skills, as well as adherence to relevant standards and health and safety requirements.
 The Role:
Reporting to our Head Project Manager, your typical week will consist of -
Supervising all work carried out on site. Participating/undertaking hands on works to maintain work flow, including but not limited to carpentry and finishes. Assist in managing projects to ensure deliverables are met on time and on budget. Completing daily site diaries/reports of job activities, description and upload daily photos. Scheduling, coordinating and supervising trades, materials, deliveries, and equipment on site and ensuring project run in accordance with programs. Undertake regular inspections to identify any defects or issues, taking proactive measures to rectify them promptly. Negotiating with sub-contractors and coordinating their activities on site Applying sound judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills to identify and resolve problems throughout the construction process. Using one's own initiative always throughout the construction process. Preparing the site area including project mobilisation, deliveries, facilitating regular site clean-ups  Completing quality assurance inspections Undertake any required safety checks on-site and identifying safety issues. Office assistance with estimating from time to time  
To be successful in the role, you are expected to:
Have a minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role. Have 5-10 years carpentry experience with a technical mindset. Demonstrate an understanding in project documentation and interpreting Australian Standards and codes of practice. Have an understanding of all trade works. Undertake record keeping of onsite activities. Have an understanding of and be able to read construction programs Be able to follow instructions and execute accordingly. Strong works ethic and passion. Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in the work you perform and oversee. Have a level of physical and mental health and fitness for activities requiring physical strength, tolerance to stress and stamina. Provide excellent customer service skills, including solid communication and interpersonal abilities, and the ability to interact in a positive way with clients, contractors, employees, management, and office personnel. Have an understanding and working knowledge of relevant Work Health and Safety Legislation within the Residential Building Industry Assisting in the continual development of company processes to improve project and company outcomes. Have an energetic, positive, and friendly approach with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Demonstrate strong leadership skills and lead by example. Have your own work vehicle.
