The Role
The successful candidate will be directly responsible for a variety of field service functions primarily focused on maintenance activities which ensures a high standard of operation and performance of utility scale Solar power plants.
Duties include but are not limited to familiarity with both AC and DC systems, including inverters, switchgear, tracker motors, transformers, batteries, power meters, computer monitoring systems, associated sensors, PV modules, and PV arrays. The candidate will deliver works as defined by a preventative maintenance plan which can include testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, commissioning, and modifying components such as solar modules, inverters, tracker motors, transformers, switchgear, and metering systems, ensuring operation is optimal from and viewable through the onsite SCADA.
Responsibilities include ensuring that the performance of all works is executed to a high standard of safety, workmanship & efficiency. Accurate recording and reporting of all faults and work logs are to be efficiently attended, rectified, and closed out.
The Site Supervisor must keep current with product technology as measured by ability to troubleshoot and repair various products and to instruct others. This position may require acting as the primary responder to automated service calls generated by remote alarm notification systems and may include on-call 24/7 responsibilities.
Experience
3 years of experience in a related position, or 2 years of supervisory experience Education / Qualifications
A Valid Electrical Supervisors or Contractors licence in the relevant state or territory Relevant Safety Certifications (White Card) High Voltage Switching Operator Licence (HVSO) desired, but not essential. A valid Drivers Licence Valid First Aid & Low Voltage (LV) Rescue Trained Required Skills/Competencies
Ability to supervise contractors in the field and ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence. Ability to take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, conduct analysis independently and in collaboration with others. Ability to work comfortably in potentially remote field conditions and manage multiple tasks and projects. Ability to work in difficult customer situations. Available for 24-hour on-call duty to meet customer requirements. Strong electrical background. Knowledge in electrical safety and arc flash standards. Understanding of and ability to follow operating, switching, maintenance, safety and environmental procedures. Must have a safety background with experience in Lockout Tag Out and Job Hazard Analysis. Working knowledge of industrial or power facility operation and maintenance. Understanding of local and national electrical codes. Ability to read and understand Electrical schematics and prints. Experienced with medium & high voltage switching. Basic ability to perform testing and troubleshooting of medium voltage and high voltage equipment, including transformers, potential transformers, current transformers, breakers, relays, contactors, motors, and inverters. Capable of retrieving relay files and documentation. Familiar with CMMS systems for maintenance tracking. Proven computer skills in a Windows environment (Microsoft Office Products) is required. Must possess good English oral and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects. Self-directed and accountable, able to think critically about processes and issues. Highest level of Integrity. Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure a safe work environment by promoting strict adherence to company protocols. Oversee all personnel in the field and ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence. Perform and document training on and ensure compliance to Job Hazard Analysis, Pre-Job Brief and Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures. Train all personnel in safety, environmental and procedural requirements. Communicate effectively with remote operators. Coordinate on-site project planning, installations, commissioning, quality inspections, and performance testing. Write and enforce work and equipment testing instructions and procedures, including normal and maintenance operating procedures. Ensure work orders are complete per requirements. Prepare documents necessary for procurement and utilization of materials and vendor services. Ensure all documentation and required reports are reviewed, complete, submitted and filed. Communicate cross-functionally across all necessary parts of the organization to achieve resolution to plant issues. Attend, participate in and pass all assigned training in safety, environmental and other areas as assigned. Maintain work area and site housecleaning to a high professional standard. Other duties as assigned. Reporting Relationships
Will report to the Regional Manager. Will lead work group on 1 site only. Travel
Travel may be required depending on the needs of the business.
Physical Requirements
Will sit and stand periodically during the day. Required to lift up to 15 kgs. Will walk and climb stairs. Will reach over shoulder heights and below waist.
