The collaborative approach of the leadership team ensures staff are involved and informed at all times.Qualifications & experienceExtensive background in carpentry.Previous experience in a site supervisory role.A commitment to delivering impeccable craftsmanship, with an unwavering focus for detail.Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.Competency in comprehending and interpreting construction blueprints, specifications and project intricacies.Must be resourceful and reliable.Valid driver's license.Possession of valid white card, Asbestos Awareness, and Silica Awareness certifications.Attainment of Certificate III in Carpentry.Must be able to pass a National Police check.Tasks & responsibilitiesSite SupervisionSet OutSupervision of SubcontractorsSite Specific Project AdministrationProject ProgrammingProblem Evaluation & ResolutionPerform duties as directed and requiredEnsure the Integrated Management System is maintained and implementedEnsure compliance with Cercol policies & proceduresEstablish and maintain a leadership role to ensure that there is commitment throughout their area of Company responsibility to achieve the IMS policy intent, project management plan requirements, and employee/contractor involvementEnsure first aid provisions for the project are adequate and in line with statutory requirements and is a trained first aid officerEnsure all workers are site inducted and copies of relevant licenses and competencies are obtained and that applicable forms are filled outEnsure all statutory signage is in place, including TTM, emergency procedures, emergency contacts etc. Establish an Emergency Response team and conduct trial evacuationEnsure amenities are adequate, well-cleaned and in line with statutory requirementsEnsure site workers receive appropriate supervision and work in accordance with WHSEnsure participation, through consultation, in hazard identification and reporting by all workersAssist with project spot audits and participate in the site safety inspectionsEnsure that injuries/incidents and/or dangerous occurrences are recorded and investigated in conjunction with the Systems Manager/OHSE Manager and Project ManagerEnsure that areas of non-conformance are recorded on a Non-Conformance Report (NCR), and that the required corrective action is conducted and closed out within the required timeframeEnsure that plant and equipment brought onto the project site has the relevant documentation as per the Risk Management ProcedureEnsure all electrical tools and equipment are suitably inspected, tested and taggedImplementing the Project Management Plan and associated proceduresReceiving, in-process and final (or acceptance) inspection and testingIdentifying/recording quality problemsInitiating/recommending solutions through designated channelsControlling further processing/delivery/installation of nonconforming products until deficiencies or unsatisfactory conditions have been correctedControlling and monitoring measurement devicesChecking that trades have certificates of competencyKeeping Project recordsDisplaying and making Site Safety Rules available to personnel on, and visitors to, the works siteConducting site-specific inductions, specific work activity safety training and refresher trainingMaking sure that before starting work on site all personnel attend suitable induction training coursesManaging workplace injury, illness and emergency management processes to suit proceduresPreparing, maintaining and making accessible the register of hazardous substancesMaintaining first aid stocks and providing first aidBriefing team members on safe work procedures, if necessaryConsulting with the Project Manager (as necessary) if any potential hazards are detected which have not been planned forCo-ordinating with other parties on site and restricting access to work areas, if neededInstructing workers on safe work procedures, if necessaryChecking that operators have certificates of competencyPlanning traffic and plant movements, if necessaryPlanning materials handling to avoid heavy manual lifting, where practicable
