We're seeking a dedicated Site Supervisor to join our team in Central Australia, where you'll play a crucial role in overseeing projects within Aboriginal communities. As a Site Supervisor, you'll combine your technical expertise with leadership skills to ensure successful project execution.
About Us We are a dynamic construction company specializing in remote projects across diverse landscapes of Central Australia. Our commitment to excellence drives us to seek an experienced Construction Site Supervisor who can lead our team of subcontractors, carpenters, apprentices, and laborers. This is a hands-on position, working on the tools alongside the team and supervising the site day to day.
Role Overview: Location: Central Australia (Aboriginal communities) Schedule: approx. 11 days on (approx. 10 hour days), 3 days off Reporting to: Project Manager Role and Responsibilities As our Construction Site Supervisor, you'll be at the heart of our operations. Your responsibilities will include:
Leadership: Roll up your sleeves and lead by example. You'll be hands-on working alongside your team, guiding them through every phase of construction. You will be leading a team of carpenters, apprentices, laborers, and subcontractors, providing hands-on support and guidance, fostering a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and safety.
Carpentry Expertise: Leverage your carpentry skills to oversee quality workmanship and craftsmanship, interpret IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings and specifications. Ensure compliance with housing standards and project requirements.
Apprentice Mentorship: Nurture the next generation of builders by providing guidance and mentorship to apprentices.
Safety Champion: Uphold the highest safety standards. Your excellent knowledge of WH&S practices and construction legislation will be crucial. You will ensure that the team adheres to WH&S requirements, promoting a safety-first culture amongst team members and identifying and mitigating potential risks on site.
Adaptability: Think on your feet—remote sites come with unique challenges, and creative problem-solving is essential.

Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need:
Proven experience in construction supervision, remote community experience an advantage. Strong understanding of IFC drawings, specifications, and housing standards. Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Commitment to safety and quality. Excellent time management skills, keeping the project on track without compromising quality.
