Our Site Reliability Engineering team lead engineering and operational support for Winton's algo trading activities. We work closely with both business and development teams across the firm, covering everything from data ingestion and quant platforms through to execution and post-trade activities. The successful candidate will be capable of taking ownership of critical systems, both supporting and shaping them as they grow over several years to meet evolving and ambitious business objectives.The role requires flexibility and dedication; we work shift patterns during London hours and operate an on-call rota around the clock to ensure Winton's global operations run smoothly. You will have the opportunity to effect meaningful change on trading-critical production systems, whilst developing business knowledge as your career at Winton grows.Winton maintains an ever-increasing cloud presence as we leverage the scale and flexibility for both research and production workloads. You will work closely with our Platform Engineering and Software Development teams to facilitate innovative and elastic solutions that span the investment management pipeline.ResponsibilitiesEnsure operational stability of critical production systems across our Investment Strategy and Execution functionsBuild out Winton's technology capabilities to cater for ambitious and evolving business objectivesRespond to issues raised by users in a timely and clear manner, investigating and implementing solutions to prevent repeat occurrencesContribute to Winton's expansion into the cloud (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, etc) to provide scalable and elastic resources for strategy researchProactively contribute to our monitoring and alerting systems to ensure visibility on system health and allow for quick response during any degradationParticipate in on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support for our critical global operationsWhat We're Looking For3+ years of experience working with software within a commercial environmentExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independentlyCompetency in Python (or other scripting language) and proficiency in SQLExperience of CI/CD processes and cloud-native technologiesEqual Opportunity WorkplaceWe are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
