The service data our platforms generate supports many activities such as cyber defence, heating/cooling, QoS analysis and more!

The wider Data and Authentication Team brings together Design, Development, Test and Technical Services all under one roof. Collectively we work in an Agile/Scrum model, uniquely positioning us to exploit the best of SRE/DevOps practices.
You will help us manage changes and deliveries for our platforms to support the 'stand out services' our company is so proud of. You will have opportunities to contribute to the best practices used by our SRE team within Software Delivery. The team is diverse and adaptive varying from beginners to experienced hybrid engineers. The activities covered are broad, exploiting a range of cloud environments such as AWS and GCP, truly embracing the hybrid skills of the future!
What you'll be doingBe the delivery focused coach for the teams, using various tools and agile methodologies focusing on driving efficiency for our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams.Play a crucial part in collecting requirements, setting up deliverables, reporting progress to executive stakeholders, managing complex dependencies, and contributing to the product delivery process.Directly impact our customers by owning and scheduling our critical projects to meet customer and business requirements whilst managing key stakeholder relationships and expectations.Have a key impact on business decisions by supporting the platform manager with strategic planning and financial budgets.Support and constructively improve our scrum ceremonies by working closely with product owners, scrum masters and the team to oversee workstack, backlog refinement and do-ability analysis.Collaborate with development teams and designers to address implementation issues.Support our agile methods and ambition to grow our SRE culture throughout with enthusiasm.Contributing to our culture and teams' wellbeing.What you'll bringA passion for providing reliable services at scale, on bare metal as well as in cloud environments.Agile methodologies/frameworks and understanding of DevOps & SRE.Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.Any Programming / scripting experience (We are currently using Python, Bash and more).The ability to analyse and solve complex problems.Organizational skills and Innovative approach.Being a Team player and passion for learning and growth.Nice to have: Passion for identifying and automating manual processes.Experience of using and configuring monitoring tools.Enthusiastic to improve your team, processes, and metrics.What's in it for youTailored training and development opportunities to continue to build your career.10% on target bonus.25 days' annual leave (not including bank holidays), increasing with service.Life Assurance.Pension scheme - If you pay in a minimum of 5% of your pensionable salary every month we will pay in 10%.Option to join the Healthcare Cash Plan or other benefits such as dental insurance, gym memberships etc.Exclusive colleague discounts on our latest and greatest BT broadband packages BT TV, including TNT Sports and NOW entertainment.Shared Parental leave - maximum amount of leave you can share with your partner is 50 weeks.3 volunteering days per year.Access and involvement with our incredible 11 People Networks including Able2 network, Careers network, Ethnic diversity network, Gender equality network and Pride network.About usBT is part of BT Group, along with EE, Openreach, and Plusnet.
