Site Manager

As a Site Manager at Beardwood Pty Ltd, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality. This role requires a proactive, hands-on individual who can manage a team, liaise with contractors, suppliers, and clients, and ensure smooth project execution from start to finish.Key Responsibilities:Site Supervision and LeadershipManage all on-site activities, including coordination of trades, subcontractors, and construction teams.Ensure the efficient use of resources, equipment, and personnel.Lead and motivate the site team to maintain high standards of work and safety.Project Execution and CoordinationOversee and enforce the project schedule, ensuring tasks are completed on time.Monitor the quality of workmanship and ensure compliance with design specifications, building codes, and regulatory requirements.Resolve on-site issues, delays, or disruptions promptly to avoid project setbacks.Work Health & SafetyPromote a strong safety culture on-site, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, procedures, and policies.Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety standards are maintained, including risk assessments and hazard identification.Manage the company Work Health & Safety Management System for onsite activities.Communication and Stakeholder ManagementServe as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.Provide regular updates to the Project Manager and senior management on project progress, challenges, and achievements.Collaborate with the project team to address client requests, changes, or unforeseen circumstances that may arise.Budget and Resource ManagementMonitor and control project costs, identifying any potential budget overruns or inefficiencies.Ensure materials and equipment are available as needed and properly managed to avoid delays.Assist in the procurement of materials, tools, and subcontractors, ensuring cost-effective decisions are made.Documentation and ReportingMaintain accurate records of work completed, daily site activities, and any incidents or accidents.Prepare and submit progress reports, including safety reports, project timelines, and compliance documentation.Assist with project handover documentation and quality assurance inspections.Qualifications and Experience:Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Site Manager or similar supervisory role within the construction industry.Proven experience managing residential, commercial, or industrial construction projects.Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations, and industry best practices.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Sound financial and resource management skills.Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including MS Project.Experience in the use of WHS software (e.g. Hammertech).Relevant tertiary qualifications in construction (e.g. Certificate IV in Building and Construction).Formal construction industry certifications (e.g. White Card, First Aid, Asbestos Awareness).Key Attributes:Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.A proactive approach with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team of stakeholders.Why Join Beardwood Pty Ltd?At Beardwood Pty Ltd, we are committed to fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and dynamic work environment.
