Job Summary
Cards in OR self-employedWe are seeking skilled Joiners to join our dynamic team servicing NHS Hospitals, heritage buildings, schools, and many other sites. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry and be proficient in the use of various power and hand tools. As a Joiner, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of projects while ensuring high standards of quality and safety. You will be working both on-site and in the workshop (mainly on site).
Responsibilities
Construct, install, and repair wooden structures such as doors, windows, and furniture.
Use power tools and hand tools effectively to fabricate and assemble components.
Perform masonry work as required for specific projects.
Carry out painting tasks to finish surfaces to a high standard.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with building regulations and safety standards.
Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site, including electricians and plumbers, to ensure seamless project execution.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety protocols.
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
Skills
Proven experience as a carpenter or joiner with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
Installation of Pre-Hung / Assemblies both FD30/s, FD60/s.
Maintaining existing FD30/s, FD60/s.
Installation of all forms of fire rated ironmongery.
Installation of all forms of fire rated signage.
Installation of fire rated closing devices.
Carrying out 1st Fix joinery when required.
Carrying out 2nd Fix joinery when required.
Proficiency in using power tools such as saws, drills, and sanders.
Knowledge of masonry techniques is advantageous.
Ability to perform painting tasks with attention to detail.
Skilled in fabricating various wooden structures and components.
Competence in using hand tools effectively for precise assembly work.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot on-site issues.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
Familiarity with fire safety regulations and requirements related to fire doors is advantageous.
Hold or be willing to work towards your BM Trada/FIRAS Accreditation.
