Your Future Role: Alstom has a permanent opportunity for a Site Industrial Director based in Ballarat, VIC, for the Rolling Stock Product Line.
Reporting to the Site Managing Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational and industrial performance of the rolling stock manufacturing site.
This role encompasses strategic planning, production management, quality assurance, and team leadership, ensuring that all activities align with the business objectives for safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
As an expert in your field, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes, improve productivity, and uphold the highest standards of product quality.
We'll Look to You For: Upholding safety as a fundamental principle in all operations, ensuring a secure work environment.
Managing team workloads and performance, and ensuring effective staffing and training for the industrial operations team.
Leading industrialization efforts, including process development and validation.
Overseeing manufacturing, maintenance, and site facility management as well as driving continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
Delivering industrial outputs in line with standard requirements and managing capital expenditures (CAPEX) effectively.
Implementing change management strategies that facilitate smooth transitions and improvements.
Developing and enhancing manufacturing processes.
Resolving technical and operational issues through problem-solving leadership.
Achieving high-quality rolling stock deliverables as well as securing timely and budget-compliant maintenance of assets.
Ensuring compliance with Alstom standard manufacturing processes.
All About You: Have a tertiary engineering degree, preferably in mechanical, electrical, or supply chain disciplines.
Proven track record in a similar role, demonstrating leadership in industrialization within the railway or adjacent industries, such as aerospace, defence or aviation.
Proactive and strategic thinker with strong collaborative skills, capable of coaching and mentoring others, identifying risks, and promoting a safe and inclusive work environment.
Understand continuous improvement practices and methodologies.
Have the ability to effectively resolve operational and technical issues, ensuring smooth project execution.
Possess extensive industrial operations experience at a project or site management level within a manufacturing environment.
Excellent people management, leadership, communication and presentation skills.
