The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough, and Lane and has been selected to design and construct Snowy 2.0.
This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history.
It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
This iconic project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.Purpose of the Role:Inspecting and installing equipment and new technologies, directing crews or workers on site, conducting research, and reporting on project status.
Site engineers will ensure that everything works smoothly and that engineering designs are being followed.
Inspect infrastructure and conduct research on site in order to solve problems.Qualifications:Tertiary Qualifications in Civil Engineering or similar disciplineWhite CardC Class Driver's LicenseExperience:Minimum 3 years' experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar roleExperience working on large-scale construction projects or other suitable project worksDemonstrate initiative and creative problem-solving skillsSelf-motivatedAbility to implement and follow through on multiple issues and achieve productive resultsSound interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaborativelyAbility to work to deadlines and targets and prioritize tasks under pressureGood organisational skills with exceptional attention to detailThe ability to work quickly, effectively, and positively in a demanding environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsCore Accountabilities and Responsibilities:Understand and manage safety guidelines, drawings, specifications, methodologies, procedures, risk assessments, inspection and test plans, SWMS, and coordinate with the frontline team to ensure implementation on site; communicate further with senior management if issues arise.Good communication and interpersonal skills, flexible and adaptable.Inspecting equipment and technologies (Computerized drilling, Pressure grouting) and communicate with related teams for solutions if required.Communicate with clients and other support teams to determine needs and explain complex issues.Diagnose construction or machinery problems; communicate with senior management for further solutions.Coordinate with the frontline team to ensure proper maintenance of onsite equipment.Monitor, coordinate, and assist the frontline team with onsite work activities and issues.Comply with FGJV WHS and quality policy and procedures as amended from time to time.Take personal accountability for own safety and be aware of the impact of actions on the safety of others.Undertake works in a manner consistent with the overall Project goals and meet the timeframes specified in the Project schedule.Comply with the provisions under the Workplace Relations Management Plan and the National Code and Guidelines to ensure onsite behaviours are consistent with industrial relations obligations.Build and maintain appropriate relationships with relevant Client and Subcontractor representatives and stakeholders.Prepare Daily progress reports on a shift basis, record all resources, and communicate with senior management about issues and delays.Responsible for coordinating with the frontline team for drilling and blasting works including drilling, charging, blast clearance, and re-entry, rock support works.
Support the monitoring team for setup monitoring instruments and continue records.Daily monitoring of Dust, Gas, Air readings and record on the system.Record any near-miss incidents, prepare incident reports, and follow up with further departments.Fill all documents related to the Inspection and Test Plan, maintain and submit all records up to date, and further coordinate with Quality Control to timely submit to the client.Understand and be familiar with computerized drilling, capable of preparing and recording drilling records.Understand Temporary work design and ensure the frontline team follows up accordingly.Arrange inspections on site as per ITP and ensure work is conducted on site as per approved specifications, drawings, methodologies, SWMS, etc.These positions are in remote challenging areas with extreme cold temperatures which need to be considered before applying for these roles.If you meet the above requirements and would like to work on this iconic project, please apply now.
