Aurizon is seeking a dedicated Site Engineer to become an integral part of our Construction Management team within the Network business. In this role, you'll oversee technical aspects, provide project management, and coordinate on-site activities for construction projects. A key focus will be on ensuring compliance with Aurizon's high standards for safety, environmental care, and quality.
The ideal candidate will excel at working with clients and stakeholders—both internal and external—to shape comprehensive project plans, scopes of work, and timelines. Responsibilities will include drafting service agreements, managing risk and cost plans, and monitoring cash flows, all to ensure that our projects align precisely with customer specifications and expectation.
Other responsibilities will include but aren't limited to: Delivering asset renewal projects, maintenance and external projects covering general earthworks, formation, bridges, culverts, level crossings and other rail-associated works. Provide support to project team throughout the entire project lifecycle, from tendering to project completion. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to identify and resolve delivery roadblocks and escalate when required. Provide support in relation to project planning and develop project cost estimates, risk assessments, development of construction methods, procedures and programs when required. Managing Contractor's safety performance, project progress, conformance with scope of work, contract deliverables, quality standards and specifications. Provide support and supervision to field operations, ensuring work complies with quality, safety, environmental standards and other relevant standards and legislation and foster a culture of excellence in project outcomes. Identifying design and constructability issues and assist in providing the most efficient solution. About you: Bachelor of Engineering (Civil preferred). Current Class C Drivers Licence (mandatory). Ideally 2-3 years' experience in project delivery across mid to large-scale civil projects (essential). High level of skill in planning, organising, and programming of infrastructure construction projects. Familiarity with WHS and Environmental legislation and ability to produce Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), understand company Quality procedures and WHS Act. Strong level of computer skills, including Microsoft and Primavera (preferred). Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills both written and verbal. Willing to commit to travel as needed and willing to relocate to Mackay for the role (NO FIFO/DIDO). What we offer you: At Aurizon, we support the development and growth of our employees.
