THE ROLE We are now seeking a Site Engineer with a background in Civil and/or Rail to join our Rail Maintenance team on projects across Tasmania, on a permanent full-time basis.
The Rail Maintenance team is responsible for minor projects and maintenance works, from routine heavy track maintenance, track construction, or specific rail infrastructure project works.
As a Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the planning, execution, and delivery of rail maintenance projects.
You'll work closely with project managers, field teams, and stakeholders to ensure that all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design specifications and standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee the on-site delivery of rail maintenance projects, ensuring safety, quality, and timeline compliance. Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation. Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits. Prepare and review technical documentation, including reports and drawings. Monitor project progress and provide updates to stakeholders. Support compliance with all relevant environmental and regulatory standards. Collaborate with the team to identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation. ABOUT YOU A degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Experience in rail infrastructure, maintenance, or construction is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Proficiency in project management tools and software. A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
