About the role Our Swan River Crossing team are looking for expressions of interest from experiencedSite Engineers with civils/structures experience to work in their team and form a key part of our iconic public infrastructure project located in Fremantle, Western Australia.
About the Project The Swan River Crossings Project is one of Main Roads' WA's most complex and challenging projects, involving road, port, freight, river, walking, cycling, heritage and environmental considerations.
The Project will replace the ageing Fremantle Traffic Bridge with Australia's first extradosed bridge, incorporating both cantilevers and cable support, that will create a striking gateway to Fremantle.
The Fremantle Bridges Alliance is a consortium with Arup, WSP and Laing O'Rourke that will design and deliver the project in partnership with Main Roads WA.
The project will: Replace the existing Fremantle Traffic Bridge. Provide safe and modern standard pedestrian and cycling infrastructure over the Swan River. Increase marine safety and navigational clearances for river users. Acknowledge both European and Aboriginal heritage of the area through design Key responsibilities Observe safe systems of work relevant to your work area and report potential hazards and environmental risks. Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities of the project to ensure that project plans are implemented in accordance with designs and specifications. Interpret, review and improve existing designs for implementation in construction of the project. Establish, implement and ensure compliance to the project's procurement strategy. Assist with preparation of site construction budgets and reports. Produce work packs and scopes of work. Ensure all other tasks and duties as directed by your line manager are completed. You will have: A degree in civil or structural engineering. Experience on road / bridge projects in Australia (highly desirable) A high performer who is proactive, reliable and flexible. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team. Strong problem solving, organisational and communication skills. A high attention to detail.
