Responsibilities
As the Site Engineer – Building Services you will report to the Project Manager and Site Manager. Alongside other members of the project team, you will participate in: The procurement of the building services subcontracts and trade works The planning, scheduling, and day to day coordination and management of the building services subcontractors The budget management and cost control of the building services subcontracts
Independently of other members of the project team, you will be responsible for: Managing technical submissions of the Building Services subcontractors including shop drawings, plant and equipment specifications and cut sheets Issuing drawings, technical specifications, and other requirements to the building services subcontractors Compiling, reviewing, and submitting building services operation and maintenance manuals to the design consultants and client Managing the design query or request for information (RFI) process between the subcontractors and design consultants Communicating the impact of planned service interruptions to the client in advance of any planned services interruption Working with the building services subcontractors to develop suitable construction methodologies when working in existing operational facilities to ensure the risk of unplanned service interruptions is minimised Ensuring the building services installations comply with the technical requirements of the drawings and specifications Coordinating the commissioning, defect rectification and handover process
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have: Tertiary qualifications in a building services discipline, preferably mechanical or electrical engineering A minimum 2 years graduate experience as a building services professional in the building, construction, industrial or civil infrastructure industries In the absence of tertiary qualifications, a trade qualification in a relevant discipline and 5 years tradesperson experience A demonstrated ability to solve complex problems while working within a large team A demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders
