Role Overview The Site Controller is responsible for all construction related activities associated with CAMs build programs. The Site Controller is tasked with providing timely & accurate project level reporting as per the customer requirements, provides input and advice into the design, quoting, procurement and scheduling phases of the program. Manages a team of Sub-Contractors & project engineers (locally & interstate) who are tasked with coordinating and reporting on physical site activities conducted by internal and subcontractor resources.
Responsibilities Project Reporting Collect and collate build status information from Sub-Contractors, project engineers and other stakeholders to ensure timely and appropriate level of reporting based on pre-defined customer reporting requirements. Challenge and support Sub-Contractors, Project Engineers and other stakeholders in an effort to reduce installation duration, avoid delays and maintain or expedite forecasted construction dates. Escalate and identify solutions to concerns, issues and incidences that impact on build delivery timeframes. Work with Project Managers, Design, Acquisition & other stakeholders to further develop & refine reporting format, methodology, frequency and requirements. Resource Management Provision build teams appropriately to ensure a continued ability to deliver to customer build schedules across all regions. Support and develop build team skills & capabilities in line with scope, reporting expectations and quality requirements. Manage day to day and week to week utilisation and productivity through frequent communication, structured meetings and resource scheduling. Manage the performance of individuals of the build team to ensure that delivery, quality and behavioral expectations are met. Allocate build activities in a manner that is geographically logically, aligned with site controller capabilities, fairly and equitably. Reviewing quotations (budgetary and actual) for build works requested against produced design drawings Manage and Track variations to scope, capturing and communicating additional cost and impact for customer approval. Review quotes prior to submission to the customer to ensure scope is captured and priced appropriately and in line with business objectives. Review quotations from installation sub-contractors to ensure scope is captured, priced appropriately & capabilities are aligned. Ensuring completed build works are invoiced upon completion – partially invoicing where applicable. Assist the commercial team with the generation of scope summaries and tendering documentation when requesting quotes from sub-contractors. Assist the commercial team with contractor selection, taking into consideration pricing alignment to CAM GM expectations, contractor capability, tender response accuracy and previous experience. Promote the use of internal field-based teams in the completion of build scope with the intention of maximising GM for CAM and increasing build capability internally. To work with the Commercial Manager to confirm cost of all build works (on a site-by-site level) Confirm any known issues from a build perspective when communicating with the Commercial Manager Work with the Commercial Manager to maintain a level of competency with regards to profitability on each job Complete monthly meeting with the Commercial Manager on P&L of jobs for the previous months jobs Quality Review designs to ensure building regulations and standards are met. Review designs to confirm feasibility and practicality of the conceptual design against the reality of physical build on site. Review designs to ensure considerations have been made to ensure safety of the constructors. Audit contractor performance to ensure output aligned to quality expectations. Manage contractors to ensure highest level quality installation possible Perform site audit tasks, both from an OH&S and Quality perspective.
