About the job As the Site Contamination Specialist, you will provide expert guidance on environmental matters and contamination risk management. This role will be responsible for leading contamination assessments, offering management and remediation advice, and ensuring contamination risks are properly managed.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to execute operational and capital projects, providing technical expertise and managing contamination issues related to groundwater, surface water, by-products of water and wastewater treatment processes, waste, and soils. In addition, the role is critical in working with those teams to ensure SA Water's strategic priorities are being integrated through contamination management efforts.
The role is key to ensuring SA Water meets environmental, work health and safety, and public health compliance obligations.
Your responsibilities for this opportunity Lead site contamination risk management across SA Water. Conduct investigations, sampling, and risk assessments. Update contamination and waste procedures to meet regulations. Provide training in environmental and contamination management. Oversee contracts with contamination contractors and auditors. Offer expert guidance on managing contaminated sites. Collaborate with teams to align contamination strategies. Ensure safety for SA Water's people, customers, and communities. Your success in this role will come from: Tertiary qualifications in engineering, science, or environmental management. Postgraduate qualifications or experience in site contamination. Proven leadership in contamination risk and environmental management. Experience adapting procedures to meet regulatory requirements. Experience providing training to enhance contamination management. Experience fostering contractor relationships and ensuring project compliance. To apply, click 'Apply'.
