About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Accountant to support the Meteor Downs South Mine (MDS), working from the Brisbane office with occasional travel to site as required.
Key Responsibilities IncludeProactive cost analysis including, working with the site management team to ensure a comprehensive understanding of costs in their respective areas.Provide recommendations that deliver proactive cost management and mitigate cost variances.Day-to-day cost Accounting & Liaising with Operations to embed Cost Management practices.Provide Financial Governance.Assist with financial evaluations as required.Responsible for all End of Month Activities per timetable.Collaborate with stakeholders on budgets and forecasts to ensure alignment with organisational goals.About YouRelevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Commerce.CPA/CA or working towards.2 – 5 years of experience in a Mining environment.Proficient in MS Office – (advanced Excel competence)Experience with Pronto or similar accounting systems.Contract management – from a commercial / accounting perspective (preferred)Knowledge of the Qld Coal Mining Safety & Health Act and Regulations.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders at all levels.What Sojitz Can Offer YouCompetitive remuneration.Training and development opportunities.Brisbane-based role with travel to site as required.Please click the link below to apply.
