About the Role An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled Site Access & Approvals Adviser to join Santos' Land Access and Approvals team based in Brisbane.
Reporting to the Team Leader IDP & Approvals, this role involves guiding projects from concept phase through to obtaining relevant approvals ensuring compliance with relevant Acts and Regulations for all Santos Onshore Development is in place prior to commencing activities.
The role is required to have knowledge of various approvals pathways that are required to authorise Onshore Development in accordance with program schedule.
The Advisers accountabilities are broken into four key areas; approval management, schedule support, stakeholder engagement and optimisation.
The role will collaborate with a range of internal groups including Development Execution, Subsurface, Tenures, Environment, Land Access and Cultural Heritage Teams to deliver accurate approvals to the business.
Key Accountabilities: Ensure all internal and external approvals required in authorising Onshore Development works are identified and secured in accordance with program schedule and in collaboration with relevant approval teams.
Track application, submission and receipt of all approvals required for Onshore Development projects from Concept through to Site Access Approval including Land Access, Cultural Heritage, Environmental, Tenure and 3rd Party approvals.
Proactively resolve potential or actual schedule delays in securing approvals.
Work with relevant business disciplines to refine and progress required approvals.
Communicate and coordinate approvals deliverables with relevant functional teams and stakeholders.
Give and receive clear and effective communication, share knowledge within and across team and give and receive feedback as per guidelines and business requirements.
Set goals through performance and development discussions and deliver on agreed plans.
Identify and pursue areas to reduce approvals burden and costs.
Identify and implement agreed process improvements within scope of role, or change initiatives, as directed.
Ensure appropriate timeframes and understanding of approvals are included in project scheduling.
Identify and pursue areas to reduce approvals burden and costs for the business.
About You To be successful in this role, you will possess demonstrable prior experience in planning and approvals within Resource Industry.
Whilst not essential, a degree in planning, environmental science, natural resource management, or environmental engineering, or equivalent would be advantageous.
In addition, you must also be able to demonstrate the following skills/experience: Experience in approvals for Resource Industry Project management of statutory approvals for resource projects across the project life cycle Strong communication skills and ability to address and engage external stakeholders Any previous experience in the following, will be looked upon favourably: Substantial relevant post graduate experience, preferably in provision of environmental services to the petroleum and gas sector or other resource projects.
Relevant Systems knowledge Demonstrable knowledge of relevant Environmental, Cultural Heritage and Land Access legislations and policies in Queensland, NSW or South Australia.
Experience in preparing and obtaining approvals and government liaison.
