ADD VALUE - THE ROLE
The Trainee Treatment Operator is part of the Water and Sewer Treatment Team who deliver high quality drinking water and treated sewage services to the Singleton community. The Treatment team are responsible for the effective day-to-day operation of Council's water and sewer treatment plants, chemical dosing facilities, pump stations, reservoirs and associated infrastructure. This involves hands on operation duties such as undertaking testing, data recording, inspections, maintenance, reporting in line with approved procedures and individual work plans and the use of several IT systems including remote monitoring and system control.
Key responsibilities include: Assist in carrying out work relating to water and sewer treatment Assist in the inspection, monitoring and operation of disinfection, pH correction, filtration, fluoridation equipment, sewage treatment systems Assist in the accurate identification, measuring, dosing, handling, dosing and disposal of chemicals Assist in conducting water quality sampling, lab testing, calculations, analysis and interpretation of results, including identifying process issues and possible solutions and reviewing process performance Assist in investigating and responding to operational issues / incidents within the water and sewer treatment systems Operate plant and equipment This position is offered on a temporary basis (up to 2-year traineeship) working 38 hours per week.
Remuneration package for this position is based in accordance with the Local Government (state) Award in the range of $803.30 - $920.10 per week plus superannuation and other award allowances.
