ADD VALUE - THE ROLE The Finance Officer plays a vital role in supporting the financial operations of Council by ensuring accurate reconciliations, effective financial management, and timely service delivery.
Key Responsibilities Include Perform daily banking reconciliations and process direct bank transfers and point-of-sale receipts. Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations and grants acquittal reporting. Maintain and reconcile subsidiary and general ledger accounts, including setting up new accounts and processing general journals. Undertake financial modeling and projects to provide data for management reporting. Assist in audit preparation and compile required documentation. Provide support and relief for accounts payable and payroll functions. Respond to customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner. Ensure compliance with Council's Information Management (Recordkeeping) Policy. This role is integral to maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of Singleton Council's financial services, contributing to our commitment to excellence in governance and service delivery.
Essential to this role is tertiary qualifications in Business/Accounting/Bookkeeping or Finance, or demonstrated relevant experience, complemented by excellent customer service skills and experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis working 35 hours per week.
Remuneration package for this position is based on Grade 8 of Council's Salary System Protocol which equates to a base salary of $68,133 - $76,641 per annum plus superannuation.
