Your responsibilities will include:
The F-35 Lightning II will deliver the most advanced capabilities and will transition the RAAF into a next-generation net-centric fighter force that is capable of assuring the nation's territorial integrity and national security.
Located in Tindal, NT, the F-35 Simulation Technician performs a variety of technical maintenance, system administrative and support activities on a wide range of products such as information technology equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations on Maintenance and Pilot Training Devices. Activities include: analyse and evaluate products and related performance, troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time, install, operate, maintain, repair and modify equipment. Maintains effective customer communications and relations.
Duties Ensures training device availability for mission readiness Performs periodic maintenance to training devices Troubleshoots technical problems, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications Installs and verifies modifications and security vulnerability updates Guides maintenance instructors, aircrew and contractor instructor pilots with operation of the maintenance and pilot training devices Maintains awareness of current issues involving the F-35 pilot and maintenance training devices Assists and advises the Training Operations Support Manager and Lead Simulator Technician as required Drafts, reviews and amends plans About you:
Desirable Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications (Diploma or above) in a relevant discipline (electronics, electrical, mechanical engineering, IT systems administration etc.) from a recognised institution, and/or equivalent relevant experience (preferably within the defence industry)
Special Requirements:
Applicants are required to hold & maintain CoA NV1 security clearance with eligibility to obtain CoA NV2 security clearance. Employment may be contingent on the satisfactory result of criminal and/or other background screens, which require the collection and transfer of personal information.
