Your Role at St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals You will provide high quality clinical service to patients under the guidance of consultant staff and assist with the coordination and facilitation of simulation programs.
You will be able to develop as an educator with the opportunity to gain skills in simulation design, event management, and debriefing multidisciplinary in situ simulations across the hospital in collaboration with the SJOG Midland simulation support team.
The role will enable you to gain experience in developing and delivering a wide variety of teaching sessions for the Registrar & RMO education program over a 12 month fixed term full-time role with a start date of August 4th, 2025.
The Position Develop simulation expertise including, but not limited to, the design, delivery, debriefing, and evaluation of simulation activity.
Support the conduct of simulation programs at SJGMPPH, including collaboration with the SJGMPPH Simulation Support Team to facilitate multidisciplinary simulation faculty at SJGMPPH.
Explore opportunities to participate in Vital Anaesthesia Simulation Training (VAST) programs locally and internationally.
Participate in quality improvement, quality assurance, and research activities.
Maintain a logbook of simulation-related activities facilitated at SJGMPPH.
Report to a designated medical education supervisor regularly to discuss progress.
Engage in clinical duties in the operating theatre, pre-admission clinic, and pain service at the discretion of the Departmental roster masters.
Commit to a team approach in the delivery of care.
Build confidence and experience in conducting elective and emergency lists independently.
Participate in after-hours and weekend rosters.
Assist in providing cover for unexpected absences.
You will be a Graduate of an Australian Medical Council (AMC) accredited Medical School or equivalent and be eligible for registration as a medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
You will ideally be a Senior Registrar or have provisional fellowship with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) or overseas equivalent. Registrars will also be considered for this role.
You will have a proven interest in Simulation and Education and the ability to work in a team environment. Above all, people will be at the core of everything you do, committing to and supporting our Mission and Values.
We can offer you Highly competitive salary and entitlements: $176,691 - $185,418 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation.
