About Our Role Simplot is seeking highly motivated candidates for multiple permanent full-time opportunities in the role of Production Operator at our Bathurst-based food processing facility.
Simplot Bathurst is referred to as "The Home of Edgell", being the original birthplace of the well-loved Australian brand.
The site first began canning production in 1926 under Gordon Edgell, producing a vast array of products under this brand.
Nowadays, the vegetable and snacking processing plant, which employs over 200 people, continues to produce Edgell products, as well as products for Birds Eye and Chiko.
These roles will involve safe operations of fixed plant processing equipment and forklifts on a permanent 5 x night shift roster across our Mon-Sun operations (with overtime where available).
Training provided The opportunity to work with a truly global business Production-based role within a world-class food processing facility What You Will Do Safely operate a variety of fixed plant process & packing equipment within a busy production environment including receival of raw material, inspection/sorting, blanching, freeze, monitoring of system processes & information / adjusting system settings to ensure quality of product is maintained to the defined standard.
Cleaning and sanitation of machinery to adhere to the cleaning schedule/standards.
Adhere to GMP and food safety practices.
Meet production plans & targets.
Contribute to continual improvement processes in conjunction with peers, Team Leaders, and Area Managers.
Liaise with maintenance team (mechanical & electrical) in relation to both preventative maintenance and breakdowns.
Work within a factory environment that has varying temperatures / noise levels (PPE provided).
About You Possess a 100% commitment to safety in the workplace.
Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures.
Ability to work across a 7-day roster on a permanent night shift basis.
Demonstrated experience within a manufacturing, process, or mechanical-related role - FMCG experience will be advantageous.
Have a high standard of mechanical & problem-solving aptitude (advantageous).
Possess a high attention to detail.
Possess a high level of both written and verbal communication skills, in addition to time management skills and the ability to work to production schedules.
Ability to work within a team environment.
Possess positive communication skills.
A current LF forklift licence and demonstrated operating experience (mandatory for applicants to be considered for a Production Operator role that includes fork duties).
Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment (incl.
urine-based drug & alcohol screening).
Available to commence in January 2025.
